Collaborations & Story Support
I specialise in outdoor culture and destinations with depth - from mountain communities to heritage-rich regions.
Alongside my editorial work, I can support with story development, shaping media angles, and writing features or longer-form content.
I also offer copywriting and blog content for brands looking for a more considered voice than standard marketing.
That means finding an angle that would genuinely interest an editor, shaping it for the right audience, and writing it in a way that holds up next to journalism.
What I can help with
Pitching and story development, features and long-form content, editorial positioning for destinations and projects.

Creative Direction
Good ideas need a point of view.
I help shape ideas, campaigns and creative work — bringing the experience of more than twenty years in advertising and brand communications.

Photography
Seeing things differently.
My work as a photographer grew out of years spent art directing and commissioning images. Eventually, I wanted to get closer to the work itself.
I now photograph for brands, publications and personal projects, with a particular interest in travel, landscape, architecture and the character of place.

Writing
Finding the words.
Photography led me into editorial work. Over time, writing became an equally important part of what I do.
I write features, stories and copy for publications and brands — bringing the same attention to voice, character and detail that I bring to photography.

Brand Narratives
Where it all comes together.
Some stories need more than a single discipline.
I bring together creative direction, photography and writing to create more complete, distinctive narratives for brands and organisations.
The result might be a campaign, a publication, a feature or a piece of branded editorial. The approach is always the same: find what is genuinely interesting, then tell the story in a way that feels coherent and true to the subject.

An editorial eye
Good brand work begins with a good story.
My background in documentary photography and travel writing has taught me to look beyond the obvious brief — to pay attention to people, place, atmosphere and detail.
I bring that editorial sensibility to commercial work: looking for what makes a brand, a place or a project genuinely distinctive, then finding the right way to tell it.

Far From: A brand of my own making
4. "Far From" Page: Your Ultimate Differentiator
Since you built this brand from scratch, dedicate a page to it that reads like a business case study, not just a passion project.
The Vision: Why you created it and the niche it fills in the travel landscape.
The Execution: Highlight that you handle the full creative pipeline—from editorial concepting and layout direction to writing the features and shooting the imagery.
The Strategic Value: Explicitly tell direct clients: "Because I build and run my own travel brand, I understand audience engagement, print/digital production budgets, and brand building from the founder's perspective."
Far From
I also know what it's like to build something of your own.
Far From is the independent travel publication I founded to explore quiet places, slow journeys and ideas worth sharing.
I built the brand from the ground up: its identity, creative direction, photography, writing and editorial voice.
It has given me another perspective on working with clients. I understand what it means to make the decisions, take the risks and build something over time.

A little about me
I began my career in advertising, working as an art director with agencies including Ogilvy and Wunderman.
Since then, my work has expanded into photography, writing and publishing. I have exhibited and received recognition for my photography, written for magazines and publications, and built my own independent brand.
The thread running through it all has been the same: ideas, images and stories — and an interest in how the three can work together.
Let's make something interesting.
I work directly with brands and organisations, and alongside creative agencies and other teams.
