About

I’m a British photographer, writer and creative director working across travel, lifestyle and environment. My background spans brand communications, editorial reportage and long‑form storytelling.

I have years of experience at Wunderman and Ogilvy agencies crafting campaigns for clients including: Land Rover, Etihad, Great Rail Journeys, Bupa, Visit England, and Incredible India.

I also hold an MA in Photojournalism that adds editorial rigour to my commercial foundations.

I work freely across commercial and editorial spaces and I value the cross‑pollination between them.

Recently, I’ve documented estancia life in Argentina for Gaucho Getaways, explored Japanese and Scandinavian‑inspired living for KABN, crossed Sudan’s Bayuda Desert by camel for SUITCASE Magazine, covered climate resilience in Senegal for the Royal Photographic Society Journal and SOS Sahel, and taken tea with the Tuareg for JRNY Magazine.

My photography has been recognised by the Sony World Photography Awards 2023, Arles Open Walls 2020, and I was recipient of the Royal Photographic Society Environmental Bursary in 2023.

In 2025, I founded Far From, a publication for travellers who crave a sense of wonder beyond the tourist gaze.

What People Are Saying

Nick's brain doesn't work the same way as most brains. Nick's brain questions things and challenges the norm. His brain pushes boundaries and doesn't accept mediocrity. Quite simply, Nick has the most creative brain I've ever come across.

Steve White, Managing Director, RedC Marketing

We have been truly blessed working with Nick. Nick’s engagement for the job from the very start to the final set of pictures has been outstanding. He has been very open for our ideas and has put our product is the best of lights.  His vision for situations and settings, playing with light and the people delivered wonderful results. Although we had limited time, Nick created a wonderful atmosphere, it almost felt relaxing working with him. Thank you for your flexibility on spending some extra time with us.

Julia Janocha, Marketing Manager, Norevo

I commissioned a Sudan photo diary from Nick for the Summer 2020 print issue of SUITCASE Magazine, and asked him to write some accompanying words. It's not always a guarantee that a photographer will be as comfortable writing, but I was really impressed by Nick's words – he gave an atmospheric, characterful and thoughtful vision of the Bayuda desert.

Olivia Squire, Print Editor, Suitcase Magazine (now Conde Nast Traveller)

Working with Nick was an absolute pleasure and a truly inspiring experience. His open-mindedness, flexibility, and approachable nature made the entire collaboration effortless. Nick took the time to genuinely understand our vision, and the results were nothing short of breathtaking. His stunning photographs celebrate the richness of Sahelian products and the hardworking individuals behind these treasures. We couldn’t have asked for a better partner to bring our story to life.

Rémi Hémeryck, Executive Director of SOS SAHEL

Nicholas really pushes boundaries when it comes to photography – he captures the ordinary and makes it extraordinary. We were honoured to feature his images and stories in Bradt’s digital magazine, The Travel Club, and can’t wait to see more of his work once travel is back on the cards again.
