Haddon Hall in Derbyshire, shuttered for 200 years, is still in possession of its original medieval features. The estate has been ‘de-fielded’ and the wildlife habitat now resembles what it was in the Middle Ages.

Thanks to a mix of happy accident and the constant care of a single family, it is a medieval stately home frozen in time.
