Under the Volcano

Licancabur, a 6000m stratovolcano that is shrouded in myth, dominates the town of San Pedro de Atacama, and the imagination of the people in it.

And now, my imagination too. Licancabur has one of the world’s highest crater lakes on its summit that is said to contain Inca gold and a mysterious sphere, which, if disturbed, will risk the volcano’s wrath.
